Dakota Dachshund Rescue is a private, all volunteer non-profit organization in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Dakota Dachshund Rescue is a very small group of volunteers who really love little wiener dogs. They work together to rescue abandoned, abused and unwanted Dachshunds, including those that need re-homing because their owners can't keep them anymore.
Dachshunds are intelligent, lively, comical, confident and courageous dogs. They are hunters. They can be difficult to housebreak and they have a tendency to be barkers. Wiener dogs are also faithful, versatile, stubborn, adorable and irresistible.
Dakota Dachshund Rescue provides medical and behavioral care for each wiener dog coming into their rescue. They do their best to help them put their best paw forward as they prepare for the forever homes in their future. They also have a wonderful network of volunteers who help with getting these adoptable Dachshunds to the loving homes they so much deserve - wherever that may be.
Dakota Dachshund Rescue takes every opportunity to educate those they come in contact with on the responsibilities of pet ownership, the prevention of cruelty to animals and the need for pet owners to spay and neuter their pets.
